Approach to the Refuge Branca

We left Munich Friday afternoon. After picking up Rainer in Bad Tölz we drove over the Aachensee pass into Austria, continued south over Stilfersjoch pass towards Bormio. After 6,5 hours of driving we arrived at our destination, parked the car and got ready for the one hour hike to the Refuge Branca. It was probably about 8pm when we arrived at the hut where we had a great 3-course dinner. We retired to the bunk beds early, as we had ordered breakfast for 4.30 am.
